Y.C.I. Reclaimed Hardwood

Yci Reclaimed Hardwood specializes in reclaiming cargo planks from de-commissioned semi trailers. These oak and maple cargo planks would otherwise end up in the landfill. Most of the trailers we process are 20 to 30 years old with some as old as the 1950’s. These repurposed boards have had plenty of time to season and develop character that only comes with age and use. At YCI we cut and remove each piece by hand with great care and consideration.

Our reclaimed woodis a durable product that will last for generations to come. Our cargo planks add instant ambience and character to any space. Your project will result in a unique one-of-a-kind piece for years to come.

Reclaimed cargo planks are perfectly imperfect and individually unique. Repurposed wood embraces individualism, history, and soul, and each piece tells a story. Reclaimed wood will not only look terrific, but it will add history and vitality to your space.

The Environmental Benefits of Reclaimed Hardwood

The use of reclaimed lumber products reduces emissions associated the logging, processing and transportation of new timber. Founder and President, Dave McLaughlin, has over 22 years working in the transportation industry. Dave created Yo Cai, Inc. as a scrap metal company that specialized in salvaging semi trailers. Dave is also passionate about recycling, sustainability, and repurposing. Today, YCI Reclaimed Hardwood gives new life and purpose to semi-trailer flooring. Each order includes the hardware (T-40 self tapping screws) used to secure the planks to the frame of the trailer upon request.

Durability

Trailer flooring is built to be long lasting and sturdy – durable enough to withstand being driven over daily with forklifts and strong enough to hold the weight of heavy cargo loads for thousands of miles. These butcher block planks were manufactured with dense grain, old growth Oak, Maple, and sometimes Apitong lumber. Dimensions vary but typically 12” wide and 1 ¼” thick with lengths up to 45’ long. We stock normal lumber yard sizes 12’, 10’, and 8’ lengths but can cut to length with some notice.
